Anand Mali has spent most of his life in quiet places, surrounded by elements like water / rocks/ sand/ trees. Most of his paintings here are titled ‘Shades of Nature’, ‘sound of water’ or ‘songs of water’… and the artist might relate his visual experience to real places, mostly in his home state Maharashtra. Abstraction, for Mali, is a process of translating his lived experience with real places into Elsewhere. With a capital E, as it affirms the destination.
